Urban+Digital Toronto presents an evening to discuss new modes of urban mobility.
New technologies and new business models are enabling the creation of new transportation services—and they’re beginning to change the way we get around the city.
Join us for a conversation with transportation system designers, planners and engineers, policymakers, consultants, technologists and digital urbanists, featuring presentations by:
Autoshare — Kevin McLaughlin (President)
Car2go Toronto — Mark Latchford (Location Manager)
Hailo Toronto — David Boriss (General Manager)
Antoine Belaieff — Director of Innovation, Metrolinx
Beth Jones — Associate Director at Green Communities Canada & Co-Founder of Moving the Economy
In the past few years, we’ve watched the launch/growth of several services which offer new ways of getting around the city: Hailo, Autoshare, Car2go, Bixi, Zipcar, etc. In addition, the availability of the TTC’s next vehicle data has allowed travellers to adjust their travel plans in real-time, based on current conditions.
These new services have a range of business models, varying rates of adoption, and are sometimes controversial, but they have significant implications for the future of transportation in Toronto. This open event will be the first in Toronto to bring the creators of these services together, to consider their collective impact on the future of how we move around the city.
This event will be held at MaRS Discovery District, room CR-3 from 6:30-8:30PM
101 College St
